Experteer Overview
As Regulatory Lead for North America, you will shape TikTok’s regulatory strategy across the U.S. and Canada and translate global priorities into regional execution. You will partner with cross-functional teams to manage risk, align compliance with business objectives, and guide high-stakes regulatory responses in a fast-moving, scrutinized environment. You will build and mentor a regional regulatory team and oversee engagement with regulators to support responsible innovation. This role offers a strategic opportunity to influence policy, governance, and product outcomes at scale.

• Serve as primary Regulatory lead for North America and translate global priorities into regional plans

• Oversee engagement with regulators and government agencies in North America
• Monitor and anticipate new laws and regulations and translate into practical business actions
• Collaborate with Public Policy, Compliance, Trust & Safety, Product, Privacy, and Security teams for coordinated regulatory approaches
• Lead legal input into regulatory investigations and inquiries
• Develop scalable processes, policies, and training to ensure consistent compliance across the region
• Act as a thought leader within Legal to shape TikTok’s responsible operating approach in North America

Tasks
• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school with strong academics
• Significant experience advising on North American regulatory matters and knowledge of U.S. and Canadian frameworks for technology platforms, digital services, and consumer products
• Experience engaging with regulators, lawmakers, and industry bodies in North America
• Ability to align regulatory compliance with business strategy and mitigate regulatory risk across complex markets
• Experience managing regulatory investigations, enforcement actions, inquiries, and crises
• Track record of driving cross-functional adoption of new policies or compliance requirements
• Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and influencing senior stakeholders in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
